We accept any film and
documentaries with a general theme, especially about art in many
shapes, human life, tradition, culture from various parts of the
world, and music; but not films containing elements of pornography
or offend a particular group or class or religion.
Films Categories:
A. Documentary Short: a
documentary film with a duration not longer than 50 minutes
B. Feature Documentary: a documentary film with length above 50
minutes
C. Short Film: a narrative film with duration less than 50 minutes
D. Feature Film: a narrative film with duration longer than 50
minutes
E. Rising star, open for all newcomers and film students. Films and
documentaries could be at any length.
F. Music and Video: a documentary or well-edited record about music
performance, video clip, etc.
G. General: other forms of art
- Films could be from any year.
- International films that are not in English must have hardcoded
English subtitles or dub in English.
- Awards of Excellence Winners will compete for Best Film.
Rules & Terms
Please read all rules and
regulations below carefully before submitting your work to
Jakarta International Film & Art Festival (JIFAF)
This agreement pertains to all work/s submitted to JIFAF.
By submitting your film/s or work/s to
Jakarta International Film & Art Festival
(the
Festival), you are agreeing to all TERMS AND AGREEMENT below in
full:
FILM SUBMISSION
1. All films submitted must have been legally secured.
2. If nominated or passed the first Selection phase, the submitter
must send 2 DVD PAL (region 0) and 1 (one) blu-ray (optional) or DCP
(optional) for final judging and public screening. Mark case and
DVD, with title, length, and director' name. We do not do downloads
of any kind.
3. All transportation/shipping costs (including customs clearance)
to Jakarta, plus fees for insurance while in transit, must be borne
by the submitter (please write: For Cultural Purposes only - Not for
commercial use) on the envelope and the shipping invoices. The
Festival Director reserves the right to refuse any shipment
involving unpaid costs.
4. All submissions should be sent pre-paid, and all submission fees
are non-refundable.
5. The Festival will not return any submission/exhibition copies.
Please do not send original.
6. The Festival will only screen films that have passed the
Festival's standard of technical requirements for a public
screening.
6. The Festival does not pay any screening fees. Not all winning
films will be screened. The festival has the full right to select
the winning films to be screened and reserve the right to refuse to
screen any film deemed to be inappropriate by the Festival.
7. Regardless of the Prize and the winning status, winning
filmmakers who can't attend the Awards Ceremony, will only receive
their Winning Laurels.
8. All selection committees' and juries' decisions are final.
THE FESTIVAL RIGHT
9. Submission of an entry gives the festival permission to have
accepted work exhibited, photographed, locally telecast, and
reproduced either in part or whole, for educational or publicity
purposes. Filmmakers can request in writing that their material not
be used for such purposes after the event.
10. The Festival reserves the right to make any necessary changes in
regulations or scheduling.
11. The festival has the right to disqualify a winning film for any
reasons, without having to explain the reasons to the submitter.
12. All filmmakers/submitters are expected to keep communications
with the Festival professional and in good taste. Failure to do so
may result in disqualification at any point in the adjudication
process, including the nullification of Official Selection status or
nominations. That stated, the Festival will only communicate with
the person who submitted his/her film to the festival, and that
Festival should not be expected to communicate with any other
persons.
13. The festival has the right to work with any institution and
partner festivals for all kind of cooperation, including joint
events or promotions.
14. The Festival Management reserves the right to make changes in
the profile of the Festival if it becomes necessary to do so due to
circumstances beyond his/her control.
DISPUTE
15. The submitter/filmmakers acknowledge and agree that remediation
of any sort will be limited to a refund of their submission fees.
16. All disputes in respect of any matter relating to the Festival
shall be subjected to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent
courts in North Jakarta. Any dispute arising as a result of
submission to the Festival will have a recourse limited to the
lesser of either the submission fee paid or the cost of correcting
the issue.
By submitting to the Festival and participating in the Festival,
submitter/filmmaker:
Acknowledged and guarantee that all work/s submitted have been
legally secured, that is but not limited to music rights, songs,
etc. The submitter releases the Festival and all its members,
affiliates, and partners from any legal action whatsoever.
Acknowledges that he or she has obtained all necessary rights and
authorizations from other individuals and third parties as necessary
before submitting the film/s or screenplay to the Festival.
Acknowledges that he or she has obtained all necessary rights and

Agree to indemnify us and hold us and our employees, owners,
affiliates, and partners harmless from all claims and liability
associated with your participation or entry to the Festival.
Acknowledges that he or she has read, understood, agreed with, and
will comply all of the Terms and Condition above, and accept all of
the terms and conditions herein, in their entirety, without
modification, and that he or she is 18 years of age or older and
mentally competent to submit this application.
